34 Weeks

Sweet baby,
Today we are 34 weeks along...only 6 more to go.  You are now the size of a pineapple and are most likely about 5lbs.  You are still a very active child, which is good because you are always there to let mommy know you are ok.  Other than my back hurting, the pregnancy has gone pretty well to this point.  I'm getting to be more tired than normal, but I still make it through most days without a nap.

School is finally out, and I even managed to make all A's again...despite all the troubles I had with school this semester.  Thank you for hanging in there and not cause me too much trouble while I finally finished off my paralegal certificate.

The Braxton Hicks contractions are getting more regular and sometimes slightly painful.  They were so consistent last night that I had to get up and walk and take a bath.  It's kind of freaking your daddy out a bit, but not to worry, the doctor says it's all very normal...especially with the second child.

We canceled the baby sprinkle.  Your Auntie NeyNey was going to host and I'm sure it would have been wonderful, but I just didn't feel like it was going to be a very positive experience.  You see, there have been a few people commenting negatively on my weight lately and it's really starting to hurt my feelings.  I know I'm bigger than I would like to be, but there's not much I can do to change it at this point.  I just wish people would be a bit more sensitive to a mommy who's trying her best.  So, we're not going to have the sprinkle so I don't have to be on guard about what nasty thing someone is going to say to me next.  Plus, only family can make it and we can see them any time.

Now that school is out, I'm starting to make lists of things that I need/want to get done before you arrive.  It will all happen slowly, but I'm sure it will all be done by the time you get here (unless you decide to come early).  Also, we have taught your sister how to say your name, it's very cute and comes out as "Osey"...I sure hope she loves you and is nice to you once you arrive.

Stay in there a bit longer baby, momma has things she needs to do before you arrive.

I love you very much!

32 Weeks

My baby,
Today we are 32 week along.  Supposedly you are now 3.75lbs (about the size of a large jicama) and 16.7 inches long (I'm not counting on that).  You are crazy active and can really knock the wind out of your momma.  I'm glad to know you are so strong though, you will do so well keeping up with your sister.
I've only got one more week left of school, finals are next week.  I hope I didn't disappoint you by not giving school 100% this go around, but it got very hard toward the end with everything going on.  I will still manage A's an B's, but I know it could have been better.  The big thing is that you are healthy and that's all that really matters.
Health wise, I'm hanging in there.  I'm tired most days, but make it through just fine with not too much extra effort.  I've gained more weight than I would have liked, but there's just too much going on to exercise like I should.  The weight will come off, I just have to make sure you are healthy.  The heartburn still lingers too, I have gone through so many bottles of Tums at this point...I'm just lucky they are still working.  Other than that, I'm fairing much better this pregnancy than I did with my last one.
Your Auntie Megan and Uncle Josh are getting married tomorrow.  Your cousin Ethan is so excited that he can hardly stand it.  Your sister will be a flower girl in the wedding, but we aren't expecting much, at this point we are just hoping she'll keep her hair up.
Starting next weekend I will be able to start focusing on getting your room ready and preparing for our family to grow.  Plus it will be my first mother's day as a mommy of exciting!  I really just can't wait!
I love you!

31 Weeks and Sono

Little girl,
Today we had our 31 week check up.  From here forward we will be going to every other week appointments, that means were getting close.  Although you are still breach, you are looking great.  Doc is going to hope that you turn on your own in the next 4 weeks, and we'll discuss other options further along if you don't.  If I recall correctly, you sister didn't want to be upside down till the very end either, so I'm sure you will turn when you are good and ready.  Speaking of your sister, she got to go to the sonogram with us this time.  She wasn't a big fan of waiting, but she did get to see you which was exciting for your dad and me.

We're not quite sure how she's going to react to you, we're just hoping she doesn't walk all over you and sit on you.  I'm sure she will love you just as much as she loves her babies, but if she doesn't initially, don't worry too day you two will be the best of friends.
So excited to get to meet you in 9 more seems like forever, but it's just around the corner.

27 Weeks

Sweet baby,
Today you are 27 weeks along.  You almost weigh 2lbs and are about 14.5 inches long.  This is the last week of the 2nd trimester, we almost in the final stretch.  I went to the doctor today to get my glucose blood work done.  I had to drink a super sugary drink prior to the appointment which cause us both to be bouncing off the walls.  I'm quite sure everything will come back fine.  My belly is measuring big, but I measured big with your sister too and she turned out to be little.  Your heartbeat is loud and strong, just as it should be.  You are the most skilled of baby kickers, you pack a mighty punch for someone so little.  The doc says everything is looking great!  We have one more 4 week appointment and then we start going every two exciting.
We've had some rather rough spring storms here the last week or so.  Your dad's car got pelted by hail earlier in the week and now it's polka dented.  It's not that big of a deal though because it still rides just fine.  I have about 7 weeks of school left.  I'm honestly so glad, because it's been rather stressful for me and I'm ready for some down time.
I'm so happy to know you are doing well and growing big and strong.  I can't wait to meet you in about 3 more months.
Love you very much,
Your mommy

25 Weeks

Little Girl,
Only 15 more weeks to go.  Today you are the size of a rutabaga.  You weigh 1.7lbs and are making your mom's belly look like it's going to explode.  To be honest, this pregnancy is going very well and very quick.  There's just so much going on that I don't have time to give much thought to being uncomfortable.  I do look much bigger now than I did with your sister as the same time, but I think that's just my lack of working out and the fact that my body has already done this once before so it's stretched.  The heartburn is still there, but I'm surviving just fine on Tums.
My cravings have revolved around fresh fruit, Dr. Pepper, and birthday cake.  Your father bought me a little cake a few weeks ago, but I guess it wasn't enough.  I tried to convince him to let me buy a big cake from Costco last weekend, but he said I probably shouldn't eat that much cake (what does he know?).
School is going well, we've made it to the halfway mark and still going strong.  There are many days where I'm too tired to go to class, but I do it anyways.  You have decided to make it a habit to dance around while I'm attempting to listen to lectures or take tests.  Not so much fun, but good to know you are having a blast.
You are so very active, even more than your sister was.  You are going to be a very strong little girl because even though you are so little, you sure can whoop me from the inside out.  I'm glad you are so strong, but could you just tone down your karate lessons a bit?
I can't wait to meet you in a couple of months, it's so nice to think about how complete our little family will be once you get here.  Daddy, Mommy and their two beautiful little girls.
Love you,
Your ma

Today we went to see the maternal fetal specialist.  Honestly, other than waiting in the waiting room for over an hour, the appointment could not have gone any better.  You are growing perfectly, are head down, and are already so beautiful.  You are measuring exactly your gestational age and your head is going to be huge like your sister and daddy's.  Whatever the doc was concerned about that sent me to the specialist turns out didn't even exist.  Even with me not having an intestine, you are still getting enough food and nutrients to grow big and strong.  Over all, it was a great appointment.  I was much more relaxed than I expected to be and very happy to see your beautiful face.
Keep growing strong little one, you're doing great!

23 Week Dr. Appt

Sweet girl,

Today we went to our 23 week appointment.  It went as perfect as to be expected.  Your mom has put on far more weight than I would have liked this go around.  I just don't have the time to workout or walk like I did last time, plus the stress causes me to eat more than I need to.  I'm going to try to take the next 4 months and refocus my energy on taking better care of you and me.  Now that it's getting warmer out, it should be easier for me to get out and walk occasionally.  Plus your daddy is trying to get back on track with his diet and working out, so I'm sure he'll be more than happy to help me.

My blood pressure is perfect and your heartbeat is strong.  We're in over all good health.  The doc did recommend that we see a maternal-fetal medicine doctor.  My uterus is odd shaped and coupled with my intestine issues he just wants to make sure everything is perfect as you continue to grow big and strong.

Considering how much I've got going on right now, I'd say we are doing real well as a whole.  Your dad has been amazing as taking on all the stresses of home as I continue to work and go to school.  Your Grandma has also been a great person to have around all of the time, it's great that's she's there to help with your sister and eventually you.

I love you very much and hope you continue to grow strong while the crazy world goes on around you.

Love you bunches!
Your mommy
